Saw Moonrise Kingdom tonight. It wasn’t a movie I would normally see, so it felt a bit like I was going out on a limb, but I have read so many great reviews I thought I should give it a chance. I felt the movie so perfectly captured the innocence of youth and the gravity of adulthood all in the same story. It struck me how childish all the adults were and yet this young couple seemed to have a certain wisdom and self-awareness that lead to some amazingly bitter sweet moments as they embarked on their adventure. I adore that this little boy is a painter. LOL
My favourite line: “I love you, but you have no idea what you’re talking about.”
